2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers: Otto Addo aims to continue mini-revival ahead of CAR game

Ghana's head coach, Otto Addo, is determined to maintain the team's recent boost in form as they prepare to face the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars have experienced a mixed start in Group I, with a victory and a defeat in their opening two matches.

Their campaign commenced with a narrow 1-0 win over Madagascar in Kumasi, but they subsequently suffered a setback, losing 1-0 to Comoros in Moroni. However, Ghana managed to bounce back in their third game, securing a 2-1 away victory against Mali. Ernest Nuamah's 58th-minute goal and a late strike by Jordan Ayew in the 90+4 minute were enough to seal the win at the Stade du 26 Mars.

Currently, Ghana is third in Group I, level on points with Madagascar and Comoros. The upcoming match against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10, 2024, is a crucial one for the Black Stars.

A victory in this game could significantly enhance their prospects of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is set to be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
