Asante Kotoko is in advanced negotiations to sign Togolese defender Youssifou Atté, according to former Kotoko PRO Obed Acheampong.

Atté, 28, recently concluded his contract with TP Mazembe after two seasons.

His versatility on the field has attracted attention from top clubs on the continent. Youssifou Atté has made twelve appearances for Togo in all competitions since 2021.

Following a challenging season, the Porcupine Warriors are focused on a significant squad overhaul for the 2024/25 season. They have parted ways with 18 players, with two more departures anticipated. Notable exits include Captain goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim and forward George Mfegue. The team finished sixth in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, failing to secure a trophy.

The officially released players are Samuel Asamoah, Nanabayin Amoah, Isahaku Fiseini, Rocky Dwamena, Richmond Opoku, Julius Ofori Ziggy, Shadrack Addo, Kalo Ouattara, Nicholas Osei Bonsu, Isaac Oppong, Augustine Agyapong, Nicholas Mensah, John Tedeku, Sherif Mohammed, George Mfegue, Serge Eric Zeze, Danlad Ibrahim, and Moise Pouaty.
