Ghanaian forward Kwaku Karikari played a crucial role in AC Horsens' 2-0 victory over HB Køge in the Danish 1. Division.
The match, held at Køge, saw AC Horsens enter with high spirits following consecutive wins over Hillerød, Esbjerg fB, and Kjellerup IF.
The first half saw several missed opportunities for AC Horsens, with Sebastian Pingel narrowly missing a goal in the opening minutes. Despite numerous crosses and chances, the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
The deadlock was broken just 12 seconds into the second half when Pingel scored, giving AC Horsens the lead. Karikari, who came on in the 72nd minute, made an immediate impact with a near-miss shot and a brilliant dribble past the goalkeeper.
In the final moments of the game, Karikari provided a decisive assist to Oliver Kjærgaard, who sealed the victory with a goal in the 90+7 minute. The win maintains AC Horsens' balanced head-to-head record against HB Køge, with both teams now having nine wins each and three draws.
AC Horsens will next face Kolding IF at Nordstern Arena Horsens on August 16.
