Ghanaian attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante made an immediate impact at Coventry City, scoring the only goal in their 1-0 victory over Oxford United in the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening.

Playing at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Thomas-Asante, who joined from West Brom this summer, was pivotal in the Sky Blues' success.

Starting as the main striker, Thomas-Asante showcased his skill by netting a spectacular left-footed shot from outside the box into the top right corner in the 57th minute, with an assist from Kasey Palmer. This goal marked his first for the club and sealed Coventry’s progression in the competition.

Coventry City dominated the match, both in possession and attempts on goal, further strengthening their head-to-head record against Oxford United, now standing at six wins, four losses, and one draw.
