Dreams FC suffered a surprising defeat to Bofoakwa Tano in the semifinals of the FA Cup, with coach Karim Zito attributing the loss to a lack of luck for his team.

Despite being the defending champions and aiming for a consecutive African return, Dreams FC fell short against their Premier League counterpart at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Sunday.

Bofoakwa Tano took the lead just two minutes into the second half through Aboagye Dacosta after a goalless first half. Dreams FC equalized in the 60th minute with a controversial penalty converted by skipper Abdul Jalilu.

The game was forced into extra time after ending 1-1 at full-time. Elijah Addai restored Bofoakwa's lead early in the extra period, sealing a 2-1 victory.

Following the match, Coach Zito praised his team's efforts but emphasized the absence of luck.

“Well, I think after every game you look at what happened. Sometimes there is something called an element of luck. I will say today that luck was not on our side," he said after the game.

“We created a lot of chances but putting the ball into the net was the problem but I enjoyed what my boys did. The fighting spirit came especially in the extra time. They came in seriously to fight for an equalizer but luck was not on our side.” he added.
