Northampton Town has officially signed 28-year-old Ghanaian winger Tariqe Fosu on a one-year contract.

Tarique Fosu, who began his professional career at Reading, has a wealth of experience across English football.

He first made his mark at Charlton Athletic, where he scored 11 goals in 57 appearances. Fosu then moved to Oxford United, netting eight times in 25 games, before joining Brentford for £750,000, contributing to their promotion to the Premier League in 2021.

During the 2022/23 season, Fosu had loan spells at Stoke City and Rotherham United, featuring in 39 Championship matches. Although he was close to joining Turkish Super League club Hatayspor in 2023, the deal fell through.

Last season, Fosu was on trial in the MLS and trained with his former club Charlton Athletic. Now, Northampton Town has secured his services, and Fosu is set to bring his experience and versatility to the Cobblers' squad.

This season, he will wear the number 24 jersey for Northampton Town in League One.
