The head coach of Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara has indicated that he is hopeful the team’s triumph in the 2024 Homowo Cup will be the beginning of positive things for the club.
The capital-based club since the last two seasons have suffered and struggled to compete in the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.
On Sunday, fans had something to cheer about when Hearts of Oak came from behind to draw 1-1 with Heart of Lions and went on to win on penalties to clinch the Homowo Cup.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Coach Aboubakar Ouattara said, "Winning the trophy today against Heart of Lions is the beginning of positive things for the club.”
He continued, "I am proud because last season [fans] suffered and after, I think this trophy is just the beginning of the league. Maybe we can see a new-look Hearts of Oak in the league.”
To improve before the start of next season, Hearts of Oak is signing top players to strengthen the squad of the team.
