2023 Africa Cup of Nations: Ghana needs to focus on advancing to the knockout stage – Otto Addo

Former Black Stars coach, Otto Addo wants Ghana to take it step-by-step at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

According to him, the national team must focus on advancing to the knockout stage from the group stages.

Meanwhile, Coach Otto Addo believes anything is possible at the 2023 AFCON and Ghana can emerge as champions.

"Everything is possible just...it is very important to take it step by step. Nowadays there are no weak teams. Everybody can defend which makes it very difficult for Ghana and the first step is to qualify for the next stage, that is, to survive the group stage- to finish as best as possible and maybe get easier opponents in the following round," Otto Addo told GTV Sports+ in an interview.

The coach further adviced, "There’s no weak team anymore. You have to earn your wins very hard. Once we get a good start, it makes the following games easier."

At the group stages of the 2023 AFCON, Ghana will compete with Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
