Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richmond Lamptey has reported to the camp of the Black Stars as preparations begin for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The highly-rated midfielder trained with his Black Stars teammates for the first time on Tuesday, January 2.
The midfielder is one of three players selected from the Ghana Premier League to represent the national team at the 2023 AFCON.
Since the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, he has performed at a high level and is regarded as one of the top players in the league.
In the Black Stars for the first time, Richmond Lamptey must fight in training to prove his worth to the Black Stars technical team led by head coach Chris Hughton.
He will have a chance to show what he can do for the Black Stars on Monday, January 8, when he features for Ghana in the friendly match against Namibia.
The Black Stars are expected to hold a second training session tomorrow at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
