Head coach of Nigeria Super Eagles, José Peseiro has named a 25-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The tournament scheduled to be staged in Ivory Coast will kick off on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
With just two weeks and a couple of days to the start of the tournament, José Peseiro has paraded a strong and exciting final squad.
Despite concerns about goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, the experienced shot-stopper has been named in the squad.
William Troost-Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo lead the defense of the Super Eagles with Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, and Frank Onyeka named in the midfield.
The attack which is the strongest department for Nigeria includes CAF footballer of the year Victor Osimhen.
He is joined by Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, veteran Ahmed Musa, and Umar Sadiq among others.
