2023 Africa Cup of Nations: No Said Benrahma as Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi names final squad

The head coach of the Algeria national team, Djamel Belmadi has named his final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The highly-rated tactician early this month submitted a 55-man provisional squad to CAF.

Out of that squad, he has selected his best 27 for the 2023 AFCON to be held in Ivory Coast.

The final squad is made up of several key players from the last edition of the AFCON as some new additions are also drafted to make the squad strong for the upcoming assignment.

Captain Riyad Mahrez makes the cut and will be hoping to inspire his country to continental glory.

West Ham United winger Said Benrahma could not make it into the Algeria final squad for the AFCON.

At the 2023 AFCON, Algeria is in Group D and will face off with Angola, Mauritania, and Burkina Faso.
