Ghana captain, Andre Ayew has rallied his teammates to continue working hard to surprise those who have ruled out the Black Stars.

The four-time AFCON champions are at the 2023 edition of the tournament but are no longer tagged as one of the favourites.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of Ghana’s game against Cape Verde, Andre Ayew said the Black Stars must accept that they are no longer part of the big dogs.

However, insisting that no one can predict anyone at the tournament, the Ghana captain says it’s a good chance for his side to pull a surprise.

“…one thing I know is that in this tournament you can’t predict anything and if you can’t predict anything then the doors are open for everyone and when the doors are open, we need to slide in. We don’t have to give no chances, and I believe that the squad is determined and our vision is to win the next game and from then we will see how to take it to the next one,” Andre Ayew said.

Ghana takes on Cape Verde today in Group B of the 2023 AFCON. The game will kick off at 8 pm.
