Angola's head coach, Pedro Goncalves, has highlighted the significance of striker Agostinho Cristovao Paciencia, popularly known as Mabululu, ahead of their crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Ghana.
Speaking at a pre-game press conference, Goncalves praised Mabululu as a key player for the team.
The match is set to take place on Thursday, September 5, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi at 16:00 GMT. Both Angola and Ghana are vying for qualification from Group F, which also includes Sudan and Niger.
“He’s built a very good career. He began right from the bottom and right now everybody is talking about him so I think he’s an example for young boys not only in Angola but also Africa. He is in a good moment (form), he’s an important player for us but fortunately we have others in a good moment (good form) and could be a good option for tomorrow,” Goncalves stated.
The qualifiers are vital for Ghana’s Black Stars as they push for a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco. The top two teams from each group will automatically qualify for Africa’s biggest football event.
