Angola head coach, Pedro Goncalves, believes that the upcoming AFCON qualifier between his team and Ghana will be a thrilling showcase of African football.

Ghana’s Black Stars are set to face Angola in a Group F match at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, September 5, at 16:00 GMT.

Speaking at a pre-game press conference after Angola’s arrival in Kumasi, Goncalves praised both teams' quality, predicting an exciting match. "For sure, both teams have very good players with good moments so I feel [the match] will be a good promotion of African football," he said.

Angola held their final training session at the Baba Yara Stadium earlier in the day, gearing up for the crucial first leg of the qualifier.

With the stakes high, both teams are determined to secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON, as the top two countries from each group will earn automatic qualification to Africa’s premier football tournament.
