2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante charges teammates to ‘keep heads up’ ahead of Angola, Niger games

Coventry City attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante is urging his Black Stars teammates to remain upbeat ahead of their games against Angola and Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars will play host to the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, September 5 before traveling to face Niger at the neutral venue.

The game between Niger and Ghana will be held in Berkane, Morocco on September 9, 2025.

Ghana commenced preparation for the two crucial games on Monday at the Accra Sports and have since arrived in Kumasi to finalize preparations.

Speaking to the media, the former West Bromwich Albion entreated the team to keep their heads up ahead of the two crucial games.

“Like last time, we won two games so we want to do the same this time. We are keeping our heads up and work towards the next game” he said.

Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew and Auxerre’s midfielder Elisha Owusu are the only players yet to report to Black Stars camp.

The Black Stars will wrap up preparation for the much-anticipated game at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday evening.
