Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is confident that his team won’t concede goals from long balls in their upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Addo acknowledged previous struggles with defending against long balls but expressed confidence in his team's ability to address this issue.

“We had problems with that (conceding from long balls). For me, it’s not particularly easy to work particularly on that because we just had three days of training so it’s not that easy. It’s more about technical things in general, individual tactics which we have to improve and we addressed it and I’m convinced this won’t happen again,” Addo stated.

The crucial qualifier, set to take place on Thursday, September 5, at 16:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, is the first of a two-legged tie between Ghana and Angola.

With the top two teams from each group earning automatic qualification, the Black Stars are determined to secure their spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
