2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Otto Addo doubts Elisha Owusu’s availability for Angola clash

Ghana’s Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has raised concerns over the availability of AJ Auxerre midfielder Elisha Owusu for their crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola.

The match, set to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 14, will kick off at 16:00 GMT.

During a pre-game press conference, Addo discussed the late arrivals to the Black Stars camp, including Owusu and Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew. Addressing Owusu's condition, Addo expressed skepticism about his chances of playing, citing a muscular problem.

“I hope they will be okay especially with Elisha, some muscle problems. After training, the doctor will talk to them and see how they are feeling. So there is a little bit of question mark to be honest but hope it will be okay especially on Elisha,” Addo stated.

The AFCON qualifiers are critical for Ghana, as the top two teams from each group will secure automatic qualification for the tournament.
