Ghana has shifted their attention to the Niger clash next week after suffering a painful defeat to Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification opener.

The Black Stars succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday evening, courtesy Felício Milson’s injury time goal.

Milson capitalized on Mumin’s error to fire home the winning goal in stoppage time for the Palancas Negras.

The loss at Baba Yara Stadium broke a remarkable 25-year unbeaten streak for the Black Stars in the Ashanti Regional capital, a venue where they had not lost since February 2000.

With this defeat, Ghana will now have to turn their attention to their second group game against Niger set for Monday, September 9, 2024.

The Black Stars will travel to Morocco to lock horns with Niger in a much-anticipated clash at Berkane.

Ghana are currently third in group F following defeat in their opening game of the qualifiers.

Angola and Sudan have taken the lead in Group F after recording victories in opening games of the qualifiers.
