Black Stars forward, Brandon Solomon Thomas-Asante has expressed his commitment and determination to ensure he is successful playing for the country.

The Coventry City striker has been named in Ghana's squad for the games against Angola and Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Having made his debut for the West African country against Central African Republic (CAR) in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June earlier this year, Thomas-Asante trained with his Black Stars teammates on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the game on Thursday.

Speaking to the media after the first training session, he said, “I know on the pitch, I want us to be victorious and when I come on, it's more of an opportunity to make a difference. I’ve got that in my heart that I want us to be successful as a nation.

"I have seen what we’ve done in the past and we want to go on and achieve big things like that and more so I’m ready to do my bit to contribute," he added.

The Black Stars are expected to train at the Baba Yara Stadium later today before wrapping up their training sessions on Wednesday. Kick-off for the game is scheduled at 16;00GMT.

The Black Stars will make a trip to Berkane for the second Group F game against Niger on Monday, September 9.
