Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has emphasized the importance of not underestimating Angola in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Ghana is set to face the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in their first game of the qualifying series.

Addo announced his squad last week, and they began preparations for the game on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium. The team has now arrived in Kumasi to continue their preparation for the match against Angola.

“It is also very important for the spectators that we do not underestimate our opponents. Angola has a very strong team,” Addo told Max TV.

“They have players in La Liga, players in England's Champions League, players in Portugal's top division, and in France.

“So they are very strong. We need to be fully aware not to underestimate them. It is crucial for us to stick to our style of play. We also need to be particularly compact defensively to prevent them from scoring.”

Following the game against Angola, the Black Stars will travel to Morocco to face Niger on Monday, September 9, 2024, in their second group game of the qualifiers.
