Midfielder Thomas Partey has praised Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, saying he has the best ideas for the team.

The 45-year-old trainer who masterminded the country’s qualification to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was reappointed in March earlier this year on a 34-month deal with an option of 24 month.

Following his return, the Black Stars recorded back-to-back wins against Mali and Central African Republic (CAR) in the matchday three and four games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers to revive Ghana's chances of qualification to the Mundial after a torrid start.

And ahead of the Black Stars’ opening games of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Partey has lauded the coaching prowess of the former Ghana international and added that he has the best ideas for the team.

“He [Otto Addo] has his ideas and he makes it very clear and he makes sure everyone knows what he wants to do and he translate that to the players and the technical team are always ready to help him so I think he is on a good journey and he is the one we have to look up to because he has experience, he has played in this team and he know everything around the team and knows what the team need and we have to follow him because he has the best idea,” Partey told SuperSport.

Ghana will take on Angola in their first Group F game later today at the Baba Yara Stadium before travelling to play Niger in Berkane on Monday, September 9 in the second Group F game.
