Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has emphasized the need for the team to concentrate on their style of play in order to secure a victory against Mali in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The Arsenal star, who will be leading the Black Stars on the field, made this statement during a pre-match press conference in Bamako.

"We have to do our best to stop Mali, stop their best players, and concentrate on the way we play to get the result we want," Partey said, highlighting the team's determination to bounce back from their mixed start in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana's campaign began with a promising 1-0 win over Madagascar in Kumasi, but they subsequently suffered a setback with a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni. Currently occupying the fourth position in Group I, the Black Stars are eager to turn their fortunes around by securing victories in their next two matches.

The qualifier against Mali is scheduled to take place on June 6, 2024, at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, with the kick-off time set for 19:00. Following this, Ghana will host the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10, 2024.
