2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana chasing first victory in 2024 against Mali

Ghana will be seeking for their first victory in 2024 when they take on Mali in the 2026 FIAF World Cup qualifiers in Bamako.

The Eagles of Mali welcomes the Black Stars to the Stade du 26 Mars at 7pm in matchday three of the qualifiers.

The four-time African champions are chasing for their first win this year, having gone seven games without recording a single victory.

Ghana last won a game in November 2023, inflicting a narrow victory against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The team failed to record victory during the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast, leading to their early exit from the tournament held in neighboring country early this year.

Recently, Ghana suffered a defeat to Nigeria and share the spoils with Uganda during the international break in March.

Ghana will be under pressure to secure first win of their, especially playing a formidable Malian side.

Meanwhile, Mali enters the match in strong form, having won two of their last three games. They are keen to maintain their momentum and solidify their position in Group I.

Ghana are currently fifth in Group I and cannot afford to drop points this time.
