Asamoah Gyan calls for sports legends to unite and revitalize Ghana football and other sports

Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan has issued a rallying cry for sports legends to join forces in revitalizing the declining state of football and other sports in Ghana.

In a statement shared on his X page, Gyan expressed his determination to tackle the challenges faced by Ghanaian sports, urging fellow legends to unite for the cause.

The call to action follows Ghana's disappointing performance in international competitions, notably the underwhelming showing of the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Ghana exited the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations with two points.

Gyan emphasized the urgent need for influential figures, both within and outside football, to leverage their networks and resources in attracting investors to the country's sporting endeavors.

"I believe the time has come for Legends in sports to come together and use their influence, network and resources in attracting investors into our country and make a meaningful impact on our youth in the sports fraternity i.e football, boxing and other athletics," Gyan stated on X.
