Athletic Bilbao legend Julen Guerrero has heaped praise on rising star Nico Williams, who has become the center of attention during the group stage of the 2024 European Championship, currently underway in Germany.
The younger brother of Ghanaian striker Iñaki Williams has been turning heads with his impressive dribbling skills and blistering pace.
In a recent interview with Onda Cero, Guerrero described Nico's performance as "extraordinary," emphasizing his importance to both Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team.
"Nico is a key player for us," Guerrero said.
Guerrero has previously voiced his desire for Nico to build his career with the red-and-white team. However, he acknowledges that the decision ultimately lies with the Spanish-born Ghanaian winger.
"It's a personal decision that must be respected," Guerrero added, referring to the possibility of Nico choosing to stay in Bilbao and become an idol at San Mamés, or venturing out to seek new challenges.
