Black Maidens of Ghana are expected to arrive in Accra today following their participation in the on-going 2020 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over Liberia in the first-leg encounter at the Antoinette Tubman Sports Stadium on Sunday.
A goal apiece from Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah and Salamatu Abdulai gave Coach Mallam Nuhu’s side a huge advantage ahead of return leg.
After a goalless first-half, Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah opening the scoring in the 63rd minute through a direct free-kick before Salamatu Abdulai sealed the win in the 83rd minute of the game.
The Black Maidens will host Liberia in the second-leg in Ghana in two weeks' time.
The team is expected to arrive in Accra on Monday to continue preparations for their remaining matches.
