Head coach for the Black Starlets, Laryea Kingston has disclosed that he picked his squad for the WAFU U17 Championship taking into consideration the playing style of the country.

His team is, therefore, expected to be seen playing the ‘agoro style’ of football at the tournament.

“We were very careful in selecting players because of the style the GFA (DNA) “Agoro style” has put up which is the major signature that is motivating us as a technical team,” Coach Laryea Kingston said as quoted on the website of the Ghana FA.

He continued, ‘’The technical team wants to dominate play, we want to have transitions in our play but we don’t want to forget the GFA DNA has put up and adding the philosophy of the technical team, it is working perfectly for the team.”

Already, coach Laryea Kingston has made it clear he wants to win the WAFU Zone B U17 Champions to secure qualification for Ghana to the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The WAFU Zone B U17 Champions will commence in Ghana on Wednesday, May 15.

The Black Starlets will play against Ivory Coast in the first match of the tournament.
