Black Stars coach Otto Addo recently expressed his admiration for Ghanaian and Nigerian music in an interview with 3Sports.

The coach, who is currently in his second stint with the Ghanaian national team, revealed that he enjoys listening to a variety of artistes from the two countries.

Despite not speaking the Ga language, Addo said he has a soft spot for Ga music. He also named some of his favorite Ghanaian artistes, including Shatta Wale, Kwesi Arthur, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, and Mr Eazi. Addo praised these artistes for their great lyrics and unique styles.

In addition to Ghanaian music, Addo also expressed his love for Nigerian music. He mentioned BXN Buju as one of his favorite Nigerian artistes.

"Also but the reason took over now a little bit but I also like to listen to music sure. So many (Ghanaian artistes) so I have said it before surely but even though I don't speak Ga I love to hear Ga," he said.

"I like Shatta Wale, especially when he talks and speaks in Ga then surely Kwesi Arthur, Sarkodie, great lyrics, Black Sherif, Mr Eazi I love him so there are so many good artistes. From Nigeria Bnxn Buju a lot so many artistes that I like," he added.

Meanwhile, Addo recently led the Black Stars to two crucial victories against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Ghana is currently second in Group I with nine points, level on points with Comoros after four games.

Addo has been tasked with qualifying Ghana for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be staged in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. With his passion for music and football, Addo is sure to lead the Black Stars to success.
