Black Stars don’t take Ghanaians support for granted – Henry Asante Twum

Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has declared unequivocally that players of the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars, appreciate the support and love that Ghanaians offers the team during matchdays.

The Black Stars is set to kick off their campaign with a home match against Angola on Thursday, September 5, at 16:00 GMT. Following this, the team will travel to Berkane, Morocco for their second Group F game against Niger on September 9.

Whiles urging fans to fill the Baba Yara Stadium against Angola, Henry Asante Twum insisted the players have never taken the support from Ghanaians for granted.

“Ghanaians have been supportive over the years and we don’t think it will change this time. The players always discuss Ghanaians support for the Black Stars whenever they are in camp and they are not taking it for granted. We appreciate that support. We will plead with them troop to the stadium in their numbers to cheer the team up so we can start the qualifiers on a good note” he said in an interview.

Ghana commenced preparation for the two crucial games on Monday at the Accra Sports and have since arrived in Kumasi to finalize preparations.

Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew and Auxerre’s midfielder Elisha Owusu are the only players yet to report to Black Stars camp.

The Black Stars will wrap up preparation for the much-anticipated game at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday evening.
