Ghanaian attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante made his first appearance for the national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier game against Central African Republic in Kumasi.

Head coach Otto Addo brought on Brandon Thomas-Asante in the 89th minute to replace Mohammed Kudus at Baba Yara Stadium.

Ghana was able to get back to continue their winning form after a mixed start in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers, with one win and one loss in their first two matches. The campaign began with a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi, but the team then suffered a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni.

On June 6th, Ghana was able to secure a 2-1 victory over Mali, with goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew giving the away side the win.

Following the victory, Ghana faced the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024, and secured a 4-3 victory.

Thomas-Asante's debut appearance is a positive sign for the future of the Ghanaian national team, and fans will be eager to see how he performs in future matches.
