Crystal Palace have officially submitted a bid to Arsenal for the services of English-Ghanaian attacker Eddie Nketiah in the ongoing transfer window.

The Eagles has identified Nketiah as a perfect replacement for Ghana international Jordan Ayew, who recently secured a move to fellow Premier League club, Leicester City.

Nketiah came close to joining Nottingham Forest after agreeing personal terms with the club.

But the move fell through following a break down in agreement between Nottingham Forest and Arsenal.

However, Crystal Palace, who are interested in signing the 25-year-old attacker has submitted an initial bid to Arsenal for his services.

Crystal Palace will have to meet Arsenal’s demand to secure the signature of the Ghanaian forward, who is open for a summer departure.

The English international of Ghanaian descent wants to leave Arsenal for consistent game time, having struggled to compete for a place in the starting lineup of the London club.

In his 168 appearances for Arsenal, the English-Ghanaian has netted 38 times for the club. Nketiah spent a brief spell at Leeds United on loan during the 2019/20 season.

Nketiah has been an unused substitute after two games into the Premier League campaign.

The forward, who has been capped once by England, joined Arsenal in 2015 from Chelsea’s youth system.

His contract in the north London club runs until June 2027 after he signed fresh terms in 2022.
