Cypriot outfit PAFOS FC signs Dutch-Ghanaian defender Derrick Luckassen

Cypriot outfit, Pafos FC has completed the signing of defender Derrick Luckassen.

The club announced the acquisition of the Dutch defender of Ghanaian descent in an official statement on Sunday, July 21.

Defender Derrick Luckassen has chosen to wear the Number 23 jersey at his new club and will be expected to play a key role for the side.

“PAFOS FC announces the deal with Dutch footballer Derrick Luckassen. The footballer chose to fight with the number 23. We welcome Derrick to the PAFOS FC family and wish him every success,” Pafos FC said in its statement.

Derrick Luckassen, 29, started from the academies of AZ Alkmaar where he went through the ranks to play for the first team in the 2014/2015 season.

He became a key member of the team and made 97 appearances, including several appearances in European competitions.

He later signed for PSV Eindhoven in Holland before moving abroad to feature for several clubs including Hertha BSC, RSC Anderlecht, Kasimpasa and Karagumruk.
