Defender Wout Faes applauds Jordan Ayew's experience displayed on Leicester City debut

Leicester City defender Wout Faes has lauded Jordan Ayew following the Ghanaian forward's debut for The Foxes.

The 32-year-old Ayew signed a two-year contract with Leicester, worth £8 million including add-ons, just before their English Premier League match against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Although Leicester lost 2-1 to Fulham, Ayew’s 27-minute appearance brought in needed Premier League experience into the game for the team.

The Foxes had previously drawn 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur in their season opener.

Faes, who netted Leicester's solitary goal in the defeat, commended Ayew and fellow new arrival Oliver Skipp for their contributions in his post-match interview.

“Obviously, Jordan has a lot of experience and you could see when he came into the game, some of the little fouls that he won, it’s all about that experience that we need, especially in some big moments in games.”

Ayew is anticipated to be included in the Black Stars' squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger in September.
