Embarking on the road to 2023 Afcon: Sports Ministry unveils essential travel requirements

In anticipation of the highly awaited 2023 AFCON tournament hosted in Ivory Coast, the Sports Ministry has unveiled crucial prerequisites for the ardent Black Stars enthusiasts making the journey by road to support the team.

The directive, issued through the ministry's public relations unit on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, outlines mandatory items for a smooth border crossing and an unforgettable AFCON experience.

To ensure a hassle-free trip, Ghanaian fans gearing up to rally behind the Black Stars are advised to equip themselves with a valid passport or Ghana card, a Yellow Fever Card, and proof of Meningitis Vaccination. The Sports Ministry emphasizes the importance of adhering to these travel prerequisites, underscoring the commitment to the safety and well-being of the traveling supporters.

As Ghana finds itself in Group B alongside formidable competitors like record winners Egypt, Mozambique, and Cape Verde, the excitement is palpable among fans gearing up for this extraordinary football spectacle.

Currently, the senior national team is deep in preparation, with Kumasi serving as the backdrop for rigorous training sessions ahead of the AFCON showdown. To further fine-tune their skills and strategies, the Black Stars are scheduled to engage in a pre-AFCON friendly game against Namibia on January 8th.
