Exclusive: German top-flight side Bochum open talks to sign Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi from St Gallen

German Bundesliga outfit Bochum have expressed interest in Ghana international goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who plies his trade for Swiss outfit St Gallen, Footballghana.com can exclusively report.

Bochum, who escaped relegation at the end of the Bundesliga campaign are keen on bolstering their team ahead of next season.

However, initial meetings have taken place to get both parties to reach a deal as soon as possible.

Bochum coach Peter Zeidler is said to be huge admirer of the Black Stars shot stopper and is keen on landing Ati-Zigi for the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign.

Zeidler previously worked with Ati-Zigi at Liefering, Sochaux and St Gallen before he joined Bochum in Germany. He is willing reunited with the Ghanaian goalkeeper at Bochum.

Ati-Zigi has established himself as key member of St Gallen team since joining the club in 2020.

The 27-year-old Ghanaian goalkeeper recently extended his contract with St Gallen, keeping him at the club until 2027.

However, Bochum must trigger the release clause of the goalkeeper to secure his services ahead of the new season.

In the just ended season, he made 37 appearances for St Gallen, conceding 51 goals and keeping 6 clean sheet in the Swiss top-flight.

Ati-Zigi is currently with the Black Stars as they gear up for the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Mali and Central Africa Republic.
