Former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan is urging calm amid calls from Ghanaians to take up the Black Stars coaching job.

The former Black Stars captain has already secured his UEFA B coaching license, meaning he is qualified to take on a coaching job.

Speaking on UTV monitored by Footballghana.com, the former Sunderland star asserted that it’s a great honour for Ghanaians to advocate for him to take up the Black Stars coaching job but said he will have to gain experience in the coaching field before taking such role.

“I have secured my coaching license so anytime I want to venture into coaching, definitely I will do that”

“I have heard people advocating for me to take up the Black Stars coaching job. For me, it’s a good thing and a great honour but in situations like this, we have to face fact. What experience do you have in coaching? He quizzed.

“You need to go through the ranks before taking such a huge task and that is what my colleagues like Laryea Kingston and others are doing to get to that level. Although, I have knowledge about the game but experience also count” he said.

Gyan is the country’s all-time leading scorer with 51 goals and also the highest African scorer in World Cup history.
