Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richmond Ayi emerges as target for Nigeria’s Enyimba FC

Enyimba FC, one of Nigeria’s top clubs, are targeting former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richmond Ayi for the 2024/25 season.

Media reports in Ghana say that that the Nigerian giants have expressed serious interest in Ayi who was released by the Phobians following the end of the Ghana season.

Kwame Dela of Wontumi Radio has revealed that Enyimba FC has begun negotiations with Ayi’s representatives, hoping to finalize a deal soon.

Ayi has drawn attention from several local clubs, with newly-promoted Vision FC emerging as one of the frontrunners.

Ayi’s journey with Hearts of Oak began after the 2017/18 season, joining as a free agent following stints with Techiman City FC and WAFA.

During his time with Hearts of Oak, Ayi was part of the squads that won two FA Cup titles in two years, including a standout performance in the final against Bechem United in Kumasi.

He was also a key part of their treble-winning squad in 2021.
