GFA is committed to addressing challenges facing Ghana football - Henry Asante Twum

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum says they are committed to solving the challenges facing Ghanaian football.

His comments come after the Black Stars failed to secure a win in their first two matches of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers earlier this month.

Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola in their Group F opener at the Baba Yara Stadium and followed up with a 1-1 draw against Niger on neutral ground in Berkane.

These results have left Ghana in 3rd place in their group with only one point.

Reflecting on the Black Stars' recent performance, Asante Twum admitted that the state of football in the country needs improvement.

He reassured that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is dedicated to addressing these issues.

"All is not well with our football. We have a lot to do, and we are committed to solving the problem," he told Kumasi's Akoma FM.

The Black Stars are set to face Sudan in a crucial doubleheader in October. Ghana will first host the Falcons at a yet-to-be-determined venue before travelling for the return leg at Al-Merrikh Stadium.
