GFA referees manager Alex Kotey has shared his evaluation of officiating throughout the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League season, describing it as having begun positively with expectations for further improvement in the upcoming season.
Speaking with Citi Sports during the Ghana Football Awards Launch, Kotey assessed the state of officiating as the current league season nears its conclusion this weekend.
While expressing satisfaction with the overall officiating standards, Kotey acknowledged a decline in quality midway through the campaign.
“We haven’t been perfect. We still have more room to improve so we will continue to work on them. We hope to be better in the coming year; we started on a very good note refereeing was quite good.
“Somewhere along the line, they slacked a little bit so we brought them back again and we helped to whip them back on their toes.”
The 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season concludes on Saturday, June 15, with simultaneous matches across various league centers.
