Ghana international Alexander Djiku has shared his excitement after helping Fenerbache to secure their first competitive victory of the season against Lugano in the UEFA Champions League qualifications.

Fenerbache locked horns with the Swiss outfit in the second round of the UEFA elite club competition on Tuesday, where the Turkish giants emerged victorious.

Djiku was called to action when his outfit defeated Lugano at the Stockhorn Arena. Fenerbache inflicted a 4-3 away win over their opponent in the first leg.

The Black Stars defender lasted the entire duration as was rock-solid at the back for the Turkish giants.

After the game, the former Strasbourg defender took to social media to express his joy following his outfit victory over Lugano.

“First win of the season. A big thank you to the many supporters who made the trip” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In a game played at a neutral ground, Lugano took the lead after just four minutes through a strike from El Wafi.

After going behind, Fenerbache had to dig deep to get back into the game and restore parity through an Edin Dzeko equalizer in the 45th minute.

After recess, the veteran striker scored two more goals to propel Fenerbache to secure a 4-3 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, Ferdi Kadioglu netted the fourth goal for the Turkish side.
