Ghana FA Cup: Dreams FC’s exit one of those things in football – Karim Zito

Dreams FC head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has described his team’s exit from this season’s Ghana FA Cup at the semifinal stage as one of those things in football.

In a gripping encounter on Sunday in Sogakope, Elijah Addai clinched an extra-time winner for Bofoakwa Tano, securing a 2-1 victory over the defending champions.

Dreams FC's captain, Abdul Jalilu, managed to equalize Dacosta Abaogye's opener, forcing the game into extra time.

However, Bofoakwa Tano ultimately emerged victorious, dashing Dreams FC's hopes of defending their title.

The defeat signifies that Dreams FC will not be making a return to the CAF Confederation Cup following their historic semifinal run earlier in the season.

Reflecting on the outcome, coach Abdul Karim Zito expressed mixed sentiments.

“Where we went out in the CAF Confederation, to me, we did better. For a longer period, we had not had a small team like Dreams FC to reach that stage,” Zito said after the game.

“You come to the FA Cup and we are out in the semifinals, it's one of those things in football.”
