Ghana international Razak Abalora has shared his excitement after sealing a move to Albanian club AF Elbasani.

The former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper joins Elbasani on a permanent deal as a free agent after ending his spell with Moldovan side FC Petrocub Hincesti.

He is expected to play a huge role for his new club in the ongoing football campaign considering his qualities.

“New home. Delighted to be here and be part of this wonderful club. The hard work never stops. BestNeverRest” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Abalora was instrumental for Petrocub last season as they emerged as champions in the Moldovan top-flight. It was the clubs first league title success in Moldova.

The 28-year-old made13 appearances where he managed to keep six clean sheets and conceded seven goals in the process to help Petrocub.

Abalora signed for Petrocub after he exited FC Sheriff Tiraspol, having won three trophies across the period with 24 appearances and 17 clean sheets.

The former WAFA SC shot stopper moved to Moldova from Asante Kotoko SC in January 2021 after an impressive spell in the Ghana Premier League.

Before his stint with Kotoko, Abalora was keeping the posts for Tanzanian side Azam FC from July 2019 to July 2020.

He has four international caps for Ghana after making his debut in a 5-1 victory over Qatar in October 2020.

Elbasani is a newly-promoted club that competes in the Kategoria Superiore, the top tier of Albanian football.
