Ghanaian striker Antoine Semenyo is set to extend his stay at Bournemouth after agreeing to a new five-year contract, reported by The Athletic.

Semenyo, who emerged as a pivotal player under head coach Andoni Iraola last season, showcased his prowess with 36 appearances and eight goals across various competitions.

The 24-year-old initially joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023 on a four-and-a-half-year deal. His integration into Iraola's preferred 4-3-3 system, often operating from the right wing, has been instrumental to the team's strategy.

Having started his career at Bristol City, Semenyo made his professional debut during the 2017-18 season.

His journey included loan spells at Bath City, Newport County, and Sunderland, before returning to Bristol City and subsequently moving to Bournemouth.

Semenyo's commitment follows midfielder Lewis Cook's recent contract extension until 2028, highlighting Bournemouth's efforts to solidify their squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.

The team is gearing up for fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and Everton in August as they aim for a strong start to the season.
