Ghanaian attacker Kwame Opoku made a significant impact in CF Montreal's 2-2 draw against the New York Red Bulls in the Major League Soccer (MLS) on Wednesday.

Opoku, who started the game at Stade Saputo, played for 46 minutes and scored a crucial goal for his team.

Sunusi Ibrahim, CF Montreal's leading scorer this season, opened the scoring in the 11th minute.

Opoku, making his first start since recovering from an injury, doubled CF Montreal's lead ten minutes later. The Ghanaian attacker's goal was a testament to his skill and determination, as he continues to make a strong case for a regular starting position.

However, the New York Red Bulls, currently third in the Eastern Conference standings, fought back in the second half. Wikelman Carmona reduced the deficit in the 61st minute, and Julian Hall equalized late in the game (88').

CF Montreal will now prepare for their third match in eight days, set to take place this Saturday in Denver at Dick's Sporting Goods Park against the Colorado Rapids.
