Head coach of Great Olympics, Coach Orlando Wellington has expressed optimism about the chances of his team avoiding relegation at the end of the Ghana Premier League season.

The self-acclaimed landlords of the capital city are currently struggling with just a few games to the end of the season.

Now 16th on the Ghana Premier League table, the team risks getting relegated.

Over the weekend, Great Olympics showed impressive fighting spirit to beat Asante Kotoko 1-0.

That game has given Great Olympics a chance to escape relegation.

Speaking to StarTimes after that game, Coach Orlando Wellington said his team will do everything to avoid the drop.

“There’s a way for us to get away from the relegation zone. That is what we are fighting for and that’s why I’m very happy that we have collected these three maximum points here in Kumasi,” the Olympics coach said.

Next weekend, Great Olympics will take on Hearts of Oak in the capital derby.

It's a match that neither side can afford to lose if they want to avoid relegation.
