Hearts of Oak have stepped up their pursuit of Accra Lions goalkeeper Andrews Owusu, as they aim to bolster their goalkeeping department ahead of the new campaign.

The Phobians faced challenges with their goalkeeping in the recently concluded domestic top-flight campaign.

Despite rotating more than three goalkeepers, the Phobians conceded poor goals leading to their disappointing season.

The Ghanaian struggled last season, finishing 14th on the Ghana Premier League standings.

They are in the market for a new goalkeeper and have identified Andrews Owusu, who impressed for Accra Lions last term.

According to reports, the Phobians are in advanced talks to securing the signature of the highly-rated goalkeeper ahead of the new season.

Hearts of Oak and Owusu are expected to agree personal terms in the coming days.

Owusu was instrumental for Accra Lions, who finished second in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League campaign.
