Former Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Frank Nelson has admitted that the club had a poor season.

The Phobian Club after a good start to the recently concluded 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season sacked their head coach, Martin Koopman.

The Dutch trainer was replaced by assistant coach Abdul Bashiru until former Asante Kotoko coach, Aboubakar Ouattara was named as the permanent gaffer on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

However, Hearts of Oak finished at the 14th with 45 points.

Reflecting on the performance of the club, Mr Nelson, who also serves as a Board Member of FA Cup said the club had a bad season by finishing out of the top 10.

“We found ourselves in the 14th position; for me, it is a very bad performance last season so there is no two ways, no arguments about it," he told ChannelOne TV.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak are preparing for the upcoming Democracy Cup against their rivals, Asante Kotoko next month.
