Former Hearts of Oak Board Member, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, emphasized that the club will chart its own course in player transfers, distinct from Asante Kotoko's methods.

Hearts of Oak, aiming to revamp after a disappointing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season where they finished 14th, are gearing up to bolster their squad.

In contrast, Asante Kotoko, who secured a 6th place finish, have parted ways with 19 players, including captain Ibrahim Danlad and Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala, who opted not to extend his tenure with the club.

Despite their struggles, Mr Nelson stated that Hearts of Oak won't mimic Kotoko's strategy.

"We don’t apply the same type of trade even though we are in the same business they have their reasons," he explained in an interview with ChannelOne TV.

He highlighted the club's focus on strategic analysis: "The important thing is that the management will sit down, the technical department will submit the report and they have to look at where are our opportunities, where are our strengths?” he added.

Meanwhile, both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are preparing for the upcoming Democracy Cup, set to debut next month.
