The head coach of Heart of Lions, Bahir Hayford has stated that he is upbeat ahead of the clash against Hearts of Oak in the 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Peace Cup.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the veteran coach said his side has prepared very well for the showdown.
“We are playing against Hearts of Oak for the Homowo Cup. I was so delighted because Nana has been my good friend a long time, only that we haven’t met for a long time. So I knew I would meet Nana at that day.
“And Nana knows me when it comes to playing Hearts of Oka. I'm also delighted that once again I'm meeting a club like Hearts of Oak for this important cup. And we have prepared very well for this match,” Coach Bashir Hayford said.
He further appealed to supporters to come to the stadium in numbers to watch the two teams.
“Apart from that, we want people to troop to the stadium and watch a beautiful game. Because we are going to trill the fans and they will be happy for the occasion,” coach Hayford said.
The Cup match between Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions will be played on Sunday, August 11, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
