Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah said that scoring for Asante Kotoko on his competitive debut has given him the belief that he can score more goals in the upcoming games.

The 22-year-old scored the only goal as the Porcupine Warriors defeated Karela United 1-0 on Sunday in their opening game of the new Ghana Premier League season at the Naa Sherigaa Sports Complex in Nalerigu.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Amoah expressed that scoring makes him happy.

“Scoring your first goal as a striker in your first league goal as a striker will give you a lot of confidence going into the next game.

“So getting my first goal in my first league game, I am very happy. It gives me confidence that I can do it.”

Albert Amoah is one of the over 12 players Asante Kotoko signed in the off season after letting go over 20 players at the end of last season.

He signed for the record Ghanaian champions from now Division One side, Great Olympics.
